Stopping a Third-Party Notetaker Bot from Joining Your Teams Meetings

If a bot with a name like "[Your name]'s Notetaker" joins your Teams meetings automatically, and meeting attendees are receiving emails about it, this is almost always a third-party app you've connected to your own calendar — not something MCi or Teams has applied to your account. You can turn it off yourself.

For Otter.ai:

1. Log in to your Otter.ai account.
2. Go to Account Settings > Integrations.
3. Find the Microsoft/Outlook section and click Disconnect.
4. Go to the Otter Meetings tab and turn off "Auto-join all meetings."

Your Otter account is linked only to you, so disconnecting it affects nobody else, and you can re-enable it later if you want to.

For other notetakers and calendar apps: the shape is the same — open the app's own settings, disconnect its Microsoft/Outlook calendar integration, and turn off any auto-join option.

If you're not sure which app it is: check the attendee list on one of the affected meetings — the bot's name usually identifies it. Tell the MCi IT Assistant what you find and it can walk you through that specific app.
