Use this procedure any time a user gets a new phone, is locked out of Microsoft Authenticator, needs to clear saved MFA credentials, or needs their MFA credentials reset.
Steps to migrate or reset the Authenticator app:
- Go to https://www.office.com/?auth=2 and click on your profile, then select "View account."
- Navigate to the "Security info" tab and delete the old authentication method.
- Click "Add sign-in method" and select "Authenticator app."
- Download the Microsoft Authenticator app on the new mobile phone. Open the app and select "Add work or school account," then scan the QR code.
- Click "Next" and scan the QR code generated on your PC from the new phone.
Note: For Concur MFA specifically, log in to Concur, download an authenticator app of choice, and scan the QR code shown on the Concur sign-in page, then enter the resulting 6-digit code to sign in.
