Use this procedure when you get a new phone, are locked out of Microsoft Authenticator, or need to reset your MFA credentials.
Before you start: can you still sign in to office.com on another device?
- Yes — follow the steps below. You can do this yourself.
- No — you're locked out, and MFA has to be reset by IT. Tell the MCi IT Assistant and it will raise a ticket for you.
Steps to migrate or reset the Authenticator app:
- Go to https://www.office.com/?auth=2 and click on your profile, then select "View account."
- Navigate to the "Security info" tab and delete the old authentication method.
- Click "Add sign-in method" and select "Authenticator app." A QR code appears on your PC.
- On your new phone, install the Microsoft Authenticator app, open it, and select "Add work or school account."
- Scan the QR code shown on your PC with the new phone, then click "Next" to finish.
Note: MCi does not administer Concur, so Concur MFA is set up inside Concur itself — log in to Concur, install an authenticator app of your choice, scan the QR code on the Concur sign-in page, and enter the resulting 6-digit code.
